Miyazaki Prefecture’s attractions are spread between the coast and the mountains, with different transport options. This article brings official information into a “where to go and how to get there” comparison: Miyazaki City, Aoshima, Obi and Udo Shrine on the Nichinan Coast, and Takachiho. Most official pages do not provide service frequencies or fares, so this article does not list them. For the destinations, see Aoshima day trip, Obi castle town walking guide, Udo Shrine guide and Takachiho Gorge guide.

Aoshima is route 2-09, labelled “Miyazaki Station / Miyako City – Aoshima / Oryuzako, Nichinan.” The operator notes that the timetables show only main stops, and Saturday services falling on a public holiday follow Sunday/holiday schedules. Routes to Obi and Udo Shrine are not explicitly listed on this page; use the operator’s timetable and fare search.

Takachiho

  • Miyazaki Kotsu’s notice says the direct highway bus between Miyazaki and Takachiho is temporarily suspended from 7 May 2024.

  1. If riding Umisachi Yamasachi, confirm its operating date and reserve a seat.
