The official page does not say whether the day pass can be used on private railways that run through onto the subway, and this page does not guess. Check the official page before you ride.

Whether to buy it: the official sources give no break-even calculation. List the stations you will use that day, look up the single fares on the Osaka Metro website, add them up and compare with 820 yen or 620 yen.

Nankai says the times are approximate and depend on the train. For other routes (for example JR) and full fares, the official information must be checked train by train on each railway company’s website.
