The Osaka Amazing Pass () should not be considered good value simply because several attractions are on the itinerary. Its price depends on the version and number of days, and attractions may have restrictions on specific dates or times. Based on the pass operator’s official website (checked on 2026-10-28), this article sets out the confirmed details for the standard version and the Osaka Itami Airport version, and provides a way to check the price, itinerary and attraction restrictions separately. For planning a wider trip, see the Osaka travel guide.

Key points

  • The standard version for the 2026 season costs 3,500 yen for a one-day pass and 5,000 yen for a two-day pass.
  • The Osaka Itami Airport version for the same season costs 3,800 yen for one day and 5,400 yen for two days.
  • The stated sales period for these passes is 2026-03-25 to 2027-03-31; this does not guarantee prices for any other season.
  • A day on the standard one-day pass runs from 3:00 to 2:59 the following day, not for 24 consecutive hours after activation.
  • Participating attractions have individual date or time restrictions. Do not assume every listed attraction is free to enter without conditions.

Comparing prices for the two versions

The following information is from official sources checked on 2026-10-28. Prices and sales periods need to be checked against each season’s announcements.

Version One-day pass Two-day pass What to check before comparing
Standard version 3,500 yen 5,000 yen Whether that day’s transport and intended attractions are covered
Osaka Itami Airport version 3,800 yen 5,400 yen Whether the additional coverage of this version is needed
Time-related item Official information
Sales period for the passes in the 2026 season above 2026-03-25 to 2027-03-31
One day for a standard one-day pass 3:00 to 2:59 the following day
Is it valid for 24 hours after activation? No

According to the official description, the standard versions (1day and 2day) cover Osaka Metro, Osaka City Bus (excluding some routes), and designated sections of the main Hankyu, Hanshin, Keihan, Kintetsu and Nankai lines within Osaka City. The Itami Airport version also covers Osaka Monorail, Kita-Osaka Kyuko (Esaka to Senri-Chuo) and certain sections of Hankyu. It does not include Kansai Airport. There is also a separate “Kansai Airport version 28-hour pass”; check the official website for its conditions and price.

The price difference between the standard and Itami Airport versions does not by itself determine which to buy. First check the intended transport and attractions, then compare the prices. Without confirming the coverage, do not assume a pass will cover every transport expense throughout the day.

Participating attractions: listed does not mean available at any time

The official participating-attractions page also lists restrictions for individual facilities. To avoid counting the same attraction twice in an itinerary budget, record each intended visit as follows.

Check What to record Purpose
Intended attraction Official facility name Avoid treating separate facilities or activities as a single entry
Whether it is a participating attraction Check the official attraction list Do not count unlisted attractions as free
Visit date Actual day of use Check date restrictions
Planned admission time Time based on your itinerary Check admission-time restrictions
Eligible pass version Use the rules applicable at the time Avoid confusing different versions
Normal admission fee Only the verified separate admission price Compare costs without treating promotional prices as guaranteed savings

Even if an attraction is near another stop on the itinerary, check whether it has restrictions on dates or times. Pass prices and separate admission fees are two different types of information. Without comparing them item by item, it is not possible to calculate your own savings.

How to choose: one day or two?

Itinerary situation How to check What not to assume
Attractions are concentrated on one day Compare attractions and transport actually available that day “A one-day pass will definitely pay for itself”
Attractions are spread across two consecutive days Check facility restrictions for each day, then compare the two-day price “A two-day pass must be more convenient than two one-day passes”
Choosing between the standard and Itami Airport versions Confirm what each version covers, then compare the price difference “A pass with ‘airport’ in its name covers all airport transport”
The itinerary may cross midnight Determine the day of use using the 3:00 to 2:59 rule “24 consecutive hours from first use”
Attraction opening information has not been confirmed Check official facility details before calculating “Anything on the list is accessible at any time”

When preparing a break-even worksheet, list the “verified normal prices of eligible attractions” and “verified fares for eligible transport” separately, then compare their total with the actual pass price. If an item has not been verified, leave it out of the savings calculation. This is a calculation method, not an officially guaranteed saving.

Reminders

The figures here apply only to the standard and Itami Airport versions for the 2026 season described above. Pass types, prices, dates of use, participating facilities and individual restrictions may change. Check the operator’s website again before departure. If you only need urban transport, see the Osaka subway day pass. For sightseeing areas, see the Osaka attractions guide.
