Review Kanagawa's four official arrival stations, transfers at Hakone-Yumoto and Gora, the eight transport modes included in the Hakone Freepass and separate Romancecar limited-express charges.
Last checked:
Kanagawa’s railway services are operated by several companies. The key is to choose your arrival station first, then plan transfers. This page draws on the Kanagawa Prefectural Tourism Association and Hakone transport information checked on 2026-10-28. The official pages do not provide total fares or travel times from every departure station, so this page does not list them. For passes for day trips from Tokyo, see the Pass comparison. Key points
- The Kanagawa Prefectural Tourism Association identifies four arrival stations: Yokohama, Kamakura, Odawara and Hakone-Yumoto.
- Hakone-Yumoto is a transfer point for the mountain railway and several mountain bus routes; Gora connects to the cable car.
- The Hakone Freepass covers 8 transport modes; the Romancecar limited express requires an additional limited-express fare.
- The official pages do not provide a complete fare comparison across departure stations, so this article does not attempt one.
