The Fukuoka City Subway is the backbone of public transport in central Fukuoka. Its three lines cover the airport, Hakata, Tenjin and other major areas. This page explains fares, one-day tickets and family ticket choices, along with starting points for common journeys. See the Fukuoka travel guide for an overview.

Key points

  • There are three subway lines: Airport Line, Hakozaki Line and Nanakuma Line.
  • Single fares are divided into 6 distance bands, from 210 yen to 380 yen.
  • One-day ticket: 640 yen for adults and 320 yen for children; valid that day across all three subway lines.
  • For IC cards, use Fukuoka’s Hayakaken or nationwide compatible cards such as Suica. See Transport IC cards and Suica.
