Transport planning on Kumejima () starts with two separate questions: how to catch a bus after arriving at Kumejima Airport () or Kanegusuku Port (), and which port to use when boarding a boat from Okinawa’s main island. Town bus timetables change with flight schedules, while ordinary ferries and high-speed boats leave from different ports in Naha. The Japanese name for Eef Beach is . Both port routes use “Eef” in their names, but one is marked “Hiyajo” and the other “Kadekaru”. When traveling from the port in this direction, confirm the route map and timetable for the day. Similar destination names do not mean the routes are the same.

Taking a boat from Naha: Tomari Port versus Naha Wharf

The two vessels board at different places in Naha. Even though both arrive at Kanegusuku Port, the ordinary ferry’s Tomari Port information must not be applied to the high-speed boat. The two reference durations for ordinary ferries describe different sailing arrangements according to the tourism association; they do not mean the same departure has two fixed durations.
