Fujinomiya: Mount Fuji World Heritage Center and Shiraito Falls
Compare admission and hours at the Mount Fuji World Heritage Center with bus access and parking at Shiraito Falls, keeping exhibition admission separate from car-park fees.
Last checked:
A Fujinomiya (富士宮) itinerary can involve two different kinds of visit: cultural exhibitions at the Mount Fuji World Heritage Center, Shizuoka (静岡県富士山世界遺産センター), and natural scenery at Shiraito Falls (白糸ノ滝). Both relate to Mount Fuji, but their entry hours, fees and transport should not be treated as the same.
This article uses confirmed information from official Shizuoka tourism association attraction pages (checked on 2026-10-28), distinguishing “admission to the center’s permanent exhibition” from “Shiraito Falls sightseeing car-park charges”. The official pages do not give a general admission ticket for Shiraito Falls or complete departure times and journey durations between the two places, so nothing is added. For other Shizuoka areas, see the Shizuoka travel guide.
Key points
- Adult admission to the World Heritage Center’s permanent exhibition is 500 yen; general opening hours are 9:00 to 17:00, extended to 18:00 in July and August.
- Last admission is 30 minutes before closing, not at the closing time itself.
- It is approximately 8 minutes’ walk from Fujinomiya Station to the center, a station-to-attraction walking segment.
- To reach Shiraito Falls, take a bus from Fujinomiya Station, get off at Shiraito Taki Kanko Annaisho-mae and walk about 10 minutes.
- The car-park charge for regular passenger cars at Shiraito Falls is 500 yen; this is not the price of admission to the waterfall.
Two attractions: Cultural exhibitions and natural scenery
Choosing between them is not just a question of scenery but also transport and timing. The World Heritage Center has defined admission hours and a permanent exhibition fee. Official Shiraito Falls information confirms the bus stop and parking charge but not a general admission fee.
Comparing the type of visit (checked on 2026-10-28)
| Comparison | Mount Fuji World Heritage Center | Shiraito Falls |
|---|---|---|
| Type of visit | Cultural exhibition about Mount Fuji’s World Heritage status | Natural scenery associated with Mount Fuji |
| Confirmed fee | Permanent exhibition, adults 500 yen | Sightseeing car park for passenger cars, 500 yen |
| What the fee covers | Exhibition admission | Use of a car park, not waterfall admission |
| Public transport | Walk from Fujinomiya Station | Bus from Fujinomiya Station, then walk |
| Time restrictions | Opening and last-admission times apply | The official page does not list general waterfall visiting hours |
| Check before planning | Entry window | Bus departures and stop for the travel date |
The two 500 yen figures are easily mistaken for separate attraction admission prices. They cover different things and cannot be added together and called a “total admission price for two attractions”. For visitors using public transport to Shiraito Falls, the car-park charge should not be included as a necessary personal admission expense.
World Heritage Center: Check the season and last admission
The center has a permanent exhibition and uses different hours depending on the month. Identify your travel month first, then check that you can arrive before last admission.
Opening and admission (checked on 2026-10-28)
| Item | Officially confirmed information | Important distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Adult permanent exhibition ticket | 500 yen | Covers the permanent exhibition, not necessarily every additional activity |
| Opening in general months | 9:00 to 17:00 | Standard hours stated in the official source |
| Opening in July and August | 9:00 to 18:00 | Longer summer hours |
| Last admission | 30 minutes before closing | Closing time is not the last time visitors can enter |
| From Fujinomiya Station | About 8 minutes on foot | Only the walk between station and center |
The official walking time between Fujinomiya Station (富士宮駅) and the center does not include the train journey from other cities to the station.
If also visiting Shiraito Falls the same day, check the center’s entry window and the waterfall bus service separately. This article does not prescribe a fixed order or treat the station walking time as a complete attraction visit duration.
Shiraito Falls: Public transport versus driving
The clearest official details are the bus access from Fujinomiya Station and the sightseeing car-park charge for passenger cars.
Getting to Shiraito Falls (checked on 2026-10-28)
| Transport | Confirmed arrangement | Not confirmed here |
|---|---|---|
| Bus | Take a bus from Fujinomiya Station to Shiraito Taki Kanko Annaisho-mae, then walk about 10 minutes | Actual departure times, bus fare and ride duration |
| Car | Shiraito Falls sightseeing car park charges 500 yen for passenger cars | Driving time from each departure point |
| General visit | View the waterfall as a natural attraction | The specific official page does not give a general admission ticket |
The bus stop Shiraito Taki Kanko Annaisho-mae (白糸滝観光案内所前) is distinct from Fujinomiya Station: the former is where visitors alight near the waterfall, while the latter is the railway transfer starting point. A walk of about 10 minutes from the bus stop is not the time required to walk directly from Fujinomiya Station to the waterfall.
For drivers, the confirmed 500 yen is a sightseeing parking charge. It is not a ticket to Shiraito Falls, and it does not establish whether a separate waterfall fee is charged or admission is entirely free.
How to plan
| Itinerary condition | Check first | Possible approach |
|---|---|---|
| Only want cultural exhibitions | Center opening and last-admission times | Build around the center’s entry window |
| Mainly want to see the waterfall | Return bus services and stop | Check suitable departures before planning the walk |
| Visiting both the same day | Center last admission and bus schedule | Check each transport and opening condition separately |
| Driving to the waterfall | Sightseeing car-park charge | Record parking separately from admission expenses |
| Visiting the center in summer | July and August opening hours | Use summer hours, not the standard monthly schedule |
This is not a verified daily transport timetable. Since the official pages do not give train or bus departures and complete transfer results between the two places, a visit to both cannot be guaranteed within a fixed period. For transport planning, see the Shizuoka transport guide.
Notes
Prices, times and services may change. The information here is based on official pages checked on 2026-10-28; check them before travelling. In particular, the general admission fee for Shiraito Falls was not confirmed in the source material, so parking charges are not substituted for admission details.
